Terms and conditions of sale

Dear guests, if you are reading these Terms & Conditions, it means that you are – or soon will be – a SEA BASE diver. Thank you for your trust!
We specialize in organizing liveaboard diving cruises in the Red Sea. Our team will welcome you upon your arrival in Egypt to help you discover its magnificent underwater world.

Article 1 – Booking, Deposit, and Final Payment

Your booking will be confirmed once you have completed your registration on our online booking tool using the link we will provide you in advance, and once you have paid your first deposit equal to 30% of the total price of the cruise (excluding options).
The balance must be paid 60 days before departure. If booking occurs less than 60 days prior to departure, the full price of the cruise must be paid at the time of booking.
We reserve the right to cancel any cruise for which the balance has not been paid one month before departure. In that case, cancellation fees will be charged in accordance with Article 6 of these Terms & Conditions.

Cruises are subject to a minimum of 15 participants.

Article 2 – Prices

The advertised prices are valid depending on the number of participants in your booking. We offer three types of rates:

Individual bookings

Group bookings (10+ people)

Full boat charter

If you book as a group, the final rate may vary depending on the total number of participants. Additions and/or cancellations of participants will be taken into account, and any resulting difference will be applied at the time of final payment.

Prices are per person, based on a shared double cabin.

Our rates are based on a package covering dinner on Saturday through breakfast the following Saturday.
If, due to your flight schedule or for reasons beyond our control, the first or last night and/or certain meals are shortened or missed, no refund will be given.

Article 3 – Price revision

We do our best not to change our prices during the year. However, SEA BASE reserves the right to revise its prices to reflect significant variations in fuel costs, exchange rate fluctuations, or new fees and taxes imposed by Egyptian authorities that were not included in our packages.

If the increase exceeds 10% of the cruise price, you will have the right to cancel your trip without any fees and receive a full refund of deposits paid.

Article 4 – Duration

You may board our cruises on Saturday from 4:00 pm until Sunday 8:00 am.
The boat departs the marina on Sunday morning after obtaining maritime clearances.

The boat returns to the marina on Friday afternoon from 3:00 pm, and services end after breakfast on Saturday.

If you arrive before boarding time or depart after disembarkation, we will arrange transfers between the hotel and the boat at the hotel of your choice near Hurghada or Marsa Alam marinas/airports.
Airport/hotel and hotel/airport transfers must be arranged and paid for by you.

Article 5 – Cruise Operations

The itineraries published on our website and brochures may be modified according to permissions from coast guards, weather conditions, or scheduling constraints.

Cabins are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis upon arrival on the boat, unless you have pre-booked a specific cabin option.

Article 6 – Cancellation by the participant

In case of cancellation, refunds will be made after deducting cancellation fees as outlined below, calculated based on the date of cancellation in relation to the departure date.
All cancellations or contract changes must be sent to SEA BASE in writing, and the date of receipt will determine the cancellation date.

Cancellation fees:

  • More than 90 days before departure: €100 per participant
  • Between 90 and 61 days before departure: 30% of the cruise amount
  • Between 60 and 31 days before departure: 50% of the cruise amount
  • Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the cruise and options

No refund will be made if the participant fails to board the boat by Sunday 8:00 am on the day of departure, or if they cannot present valid required documents such as:

  • Passport or ID card valid for at least 6 months after return date (if traveling with ID card: provide a passport photo for visa on arrival)
  • Exit authorization for minors if the accompanying person has a different family name
  • Visa: we handle visas for French, Belgian, Swiss, and Canadian citizens. For other nationalities, please check with your consulate before departure.
  • Medical certificate (less than 12 months old) clearing you for scuba diving
  • Diving certification cards
  • Or any other documents required by authorities depending on your situation

Article 7 – Cancellation by the organizer

No compensation will be provided if cancellation is due to force majeure, political, climatic, or natural events, or circumstances preventing safe travel.

If we must cancel a departure for safety or reasons beyond our control, we will do our best to offer an alternative solution if possible, or provide a full refund of payments made.

Article 8 – Administrative Requirements

Administrative requirements provided in your booking documents apply to French, Belgian, and Swiss citizens. For all other nationalities, consult your consulate.

It is the responsibility of each participant to verify with the relevant authorities the validity of their travel documents. Participants must comply with local police, customs, and health regulations at all times.

For safety reasons, all minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Participants must respect French and Egyptian laws and must not carry prohibited items such as weapons or drugs. Drones are prohibited in Egypt.

Article 9 – Liability

SEA BASE cannot be held responsible for:

Delays or inability to provide required documents

Loss of documents

Unforeseeable or unavoidable events such as strikes, social unrest, weather conditions, or other cases of force majeure

Any trip shortened or interrupted by the participant for any reason will not be refunded.

Article 10 – Diving Responsibility

Each participant must provide diving insurance. We offer weekly DAN insurance if you do not have annual coverage.

SEA BASE cannot verify the diving experience of all participants. For cruises including diving (outside of training courses), a minimum number of logged dives may be required depending on the difficulty of the itinerary.
A medical certificate (less than 12 months old) is also mandatory.

Except for training courses, each participant confirms that they have the technical skills required for our diving cruises.

Participants must follow the advice and instructions of the onboard dive instructors. SEA BASE and its staff are not liable for accidents or injuries resulting from reckless or non-compliant behavior.

The Dive Director reserves the right to prohibit a dive if deemed unsafe for the participant or others. Paid supervision may be required for participants whose technical level is deemed insufficient for their safety.
