We offer diving cruises aboard our boats, designed to guarantee your comfort and safety. All year round, you can cruise on Volantis and Antarès, 100% owned by SEA BASE. In high season, during the months of October, November and sometimes May, we reinforce our fleet with two additional boats, the New Regency and the Falcon, chartered from trusted partners.
Safety on board and while diving
The safety of our divers and crews is an absolute priority.
With our dual Franco-Egyptian culture, we do our utmost to guarantee the serenity of your diving cruises.
Design and maintenance
The SEA BASE fleet

Built by SEA BASE
Volantis & Antarès
- Volantis: Launched in August 2021.
- Antarès : Launched in September 2023.
- Australe: Under construction, scheduled for end 2026.
All our boats are built at the Safaga shipyard, under the supervision of the same Egyptian shipbuilding engineer, to identical specifications. This approach enables us to control every stage of their manufacture, and to guarantee the same standards of quality and safety.
Robust, innovative construction in Egypt :
We have adopted proven European shipbuilding methods for optimum safety:
- Integral steel structure, from hull to top deck
- Double steel hull
- Fixed stabilizers and bow bulb ensure stability even in difficult sailing conditions.
Leased to trusted partners
New Regency & Falcon
- New Regency: Launched in 2018, refurbished in 2022
- Falcon: launched in 2021
New Regency
Owned by our shipbuilding engineer (who built Volantis and Antarès), a professional renowned for his expertise in designing and building reliable, high-performance vessels. His experience guarantees a level of safety and comfort in line with our standards.
Falcon
It is owned by a shipowner specializing in international fishing boats, with proven knowledge of shipbuilding for sailing in extreme conditions.
A steel shell structure
Like our Volantis and Antares boats, the New Regency and Falcon are built in steel, guaranteeing excellent buoyancy.
Rigorous, regular maintenance
Every day
Monitoring and maintenance
For your safety and comfort, our on-board teams monitor and correct all day-to-day problems. The engine room is monitored by our mechanics day and night.
Every year
Complete overhaul
At the end of the season, our mechanics carry out a complete overhaul and recondition the engine room. Our partners also overhaul all equipment: compressors, galley equipment, watermakers…
Every year
Control by the Egyptian authorities
Every year, our boats are inspected and approved by the CDWS (the government body managing diving in the Red Sea), by Marine Control (the Egyptian government’s expert committee) and by the Ministry of Tourism.
Maximum every 2 years
Taking the boat out of the yard
We provide full out-of-water maintenance every 2 years or less, for complete hull maintenance and renewal of the antifouling (anti-corrosion paint).
100% steel structures

On-board safety equipment
Right from the construction stage, we invested in quality materials and equipment, carefully selected in Egypt and Europe when reliability and technical requirements called for it.
Navigation and communication
We have all the equipment you need for sailing:
- Radar: to track and identify nearby vessels and avoid any risk of collision.
- VHF radio with international channel: for rapid communication with rescue services or nearby boats in the event of an incident.
- Depth sounder: essential for safe navigation, even in shallow areas.
- EPIRB system: a distress signal device that automatically sends the GPS position to rescue services in the event of a shipwreck.
- AIS-SART device: linked to a nautical chart and connected directly to the army surveillance center, it transmits a distress signal in real time. This system enables the authorities to track our movements and intervene immediately if necessary.
The use of a satellite phone requires special authorization from national security, which is not granted to cruise ships. However, we are exploring alternative solutions to strengthen our means of communication at sea. From late 2024 or early 2025, we plan to equip our ships with a STARLINK satellite device, enabling us to have an internet connection in case of emergency.
Our sailors and captains are equipped with walkie-talkies to monitor your dives and ensure safe manoeuvring and mooring.
Fire safety and electrical devices
The fire alarm is connected to the captain’s station. It is connected to the whole boat: engine room, cabins, saloon, galley…
We installed a complete fire-fighting system, with detectors and extinguishers adapted to each sensitive area: engine room, platform, saloon, each corridor, each cabin, galley, next to the general electrical panel, captain’s cabin and crew cabin…
The kitchen is an important place to make safe: we have fire blankets, fire extinguisher balls, specialized extinguishers for oil-related fires, and of course alarms.
On the electrical side, all cables are covered with fire-resistant rubber, except for the small cables for the exterior lights, which operate on low voltage (12 volts) to minimize risk.
Surveillance system
Cameras, permanently visible from the captain’s cabin, monitor all high-risk areas: galley, platform, engine room.
Canoes and life jackets
Each boat in our fleet is fitted with lifeboats adapted to its capacity and checked and approved by the authorities every year:
- Volantis: 3 lifeboats x 25 persons, 2 RIBs and 1 zodiac.
- Antarès : 2 lifeboats x 25 persons + 1 lifeboat x 10 persons, 2 RIBs and 1 zodiac
- New Regency: 2 lifeboats x 25 persons and 2 zodiacs
- Falcon: 3 lifeboats for 25 people each and 2 RIBs.
In each cabin, you’ll find life jackets equipped with whistles and flashers, as well as an emergency axe, designed to break windows or the door in case of need.
Pharmacy
We provide two complete pharmacy boxes, containing everything you need to respond effectively to medical emergencies:
- First-aid kits and essential medicines
- Suture kit for severe wounds
- Tensiometers and otoscopes
- Defibrillators
- Oxygen cylinder with mask for emergency treatment of ADD
In the event of a serious accident, the only option is to return to the marina by boat. Navigation may take longer or shorter depending on the site. We advise all our divers to use nitrox to reduce the risk of decompression sickness.
An experienced local team
Knowledge of the seabed and navigation conditions is essential to ensure a safe and unforgettable experience.
Our crew members, captains, sailors and mechanics are all experts in their fields, and benefit from CDWS training courses.
In addition, our teams have received training in maritime safety and emergency procedures from a senior Egyptian general, former head of the Suez Canal naval base and now a cargo captain. His expertise has strengthened our safety protocols and our skills in managing critical situations.
We plan to repeat this training every year before the start of the season.
The mechanics take it in turns to provide 24-hour surveillance, day and night. The captain and his sailors are always 2 aboard to guarantee safe travel.
Our Egyptian diving instructors have extensive experience of the Red Sea and know the bottom inside out. They bring their in-depth knowledge of the sites to your briefings and dives.
We value our teams’ expertise and commitment by offering them above-average remuneration, which enables us to surround ourselves with the best professionals.
Our dedicated team in France is here to help you plan your trip and answer any questions you may have.
Insurance
Our boats are insured in case of accident.
We have chosen DAN EUROPE, one of the best-performing insurers on the market, to provide diving liability insurance up to €1,500,000.
Our commitment to transparency
Your safety begins as soon as you arrive on board: a detailed safety briefing is given by your dive managers to introduce you to the equipment and evacuation procedures should the need arise.
Following the latest accidents in the Red Sea, we have completed by a tour of the security systems and an evacuation drill the security briefing on arrival. We also provide a waterproof bag to protect your identity papers and valuables.
Transparency is essential to establish a relationship of trust with our divers. Our entire team is at your disposal to answer any questions you may have prior to your departure or on site.
With SEA BASE, you embark on reliable boats, guided by passionate professionals. Your safety is not a compromise: it’s our commitment. We invite you to dive with confidence into one of the world’s most beautiful marine environments.
